Rules of Entry: GSMA's Asia Mobile Awards 2008

Eligibility:

The GSMA's Asia Mobile Awards 2008 are open to all eligible mobile industry and supporting industry companies in the mobile eco-system – GSMA Members, Associate Members and non-members - as defined in the individual category eligibility descriptions.

All products, services, solutions, initiatives etc entered must be supportive of, or be deployed over the GSM family of mobile technologies e.g. GSM, GPRS, EDGE, W-CDMA and/or HSPA/ HSUPA.

All products or services submitted for Awards must be commercially in at least one or more Asian market, (except for categories (1c) Best Mobile Advertising, (2c) Best Mobile Money Service and (4) The Green Mobile Award for which trials & pilots are eligible, as described).

Products can be manufactured anywhere in the world, as long as they are sold or available in at least one or more Asian market (including Asia Pacific, Australasia, and Indian subcontinent).

Agreement:

These 'Rules of Entry' for the Asia Mobile Awards 2008 ("Rules") incorporate the Asia Awards General Terms & Conditions. The Terms shall govern in event of conflict with these Rules. You agree to be bound by the Rules and Terms by submitting an entry for the Awards.


Entry Form Submission:

Entries must be submitted online via the GSMA's Asia Mobile Awards 2008 Web Site with credit card or International money transfer payment of the appropriate fee.


Language:

Entries will only be accepted when submitted in the English language. When submitting examples or supporting files for any of the categories, please provide either an English translation of the text to accompany the files, if not in the English language.


Entry Acknowledgement:

Following electronic confirmation of receipt of the entry form by the GSMA, you will be emailed with a Unique Reference Number. This number should be stated on any payment details or marked clearly on any supporting materials submitted.


Multiple Entries:

There is no maximum number of entries permitted from a single organisation. You can submit as many different entries to as many categories as you would like. However, each individual entry submitted is liable to a separate entry fee.

Entry Fees:

£200 (sterling) per entry* for GSMA Members & Associate Members
£250 (sterling) per entry* for Non GSMA Members

Entry fees are payable for each entry submitted.

Please quote your unique entry reference number. Entries will not be processed until full payment has been received.


Payment deadline and closing date:

Complete entries must be received and paid in full by the final deadline date to be considered. Entry fees paid by international money order must be received, together with the completed entry form, prior to, or by the final deadline.

Entries and their associated entry fees received after the closing date of Friday 03rd October 2008 (5pm Hong Kong time) will be returned.

The entry fee for the GSMA's Asia Mobile Awards helps cover the administrative costs associated with collating, reviewing and evaluating the hundreds of entries received each year. Entry fees also contribute towards pre- and post-event publicity.

Entry fees are payable for each entry submitted. One entry is defined as a submission proposing a product, service, initiative or company for one Award category or sub-category. If the same product, service, initiative or company is proposed for two or more Award categories or sub-categories, two or more entry fees are payable as appropriate. Entry fees are non-refundable.

A secure online payment system is provided by Secure Trading.

Additional Supporting Materials:

Additional materials are encouraged and only accepted for categories as follows:

Electronic files demonstrating content, applications, services, initiatives or campaigns are accepted for the following categories only. Entrants will receive a link in their order confirmation mail, which will give instructions on how to upload their electronic files.

Supporting files for the above categories should only be submitted in .jpeg (for pictures), .mpeg (for video), ppt for powerpoint presentations.

Other formats will be considered upon request to awards@asiamobileawards.com. If using sound, entries should be submitted with English language voice-overs or if not possible, they MUST be supported an English translation of the script.

Category 4: Best Mobile Broadband handset or Device (see below)

For Specific handsets / devices/ notebooks entered to category 4: Best Mobile Broadband Handset or device, Five (5) of each product entered are required for judges to see and try out the product.

Supporting handsets /devices must arrive no later than Friday 03rd October 2008 . Handsets sets/devices can be returned upon request to the awards administrator, following completion of the judging process.

Please contact awards@asiamobileawards.com. It is the responsibility of entering companies to arrange for the collection of submitted products. Companies intending to have their product returned after the close of the Awards should indicate this clearly when submitting the product.

Your Unique Reference Number should be clearly marked on the handsets when sent to support your entry.

Judging Process:

Entries will be judged on the basis of the information provided to the GSMA's independent judging panel on the entry form and additional supporting materials where required (see above). Details of the judging panel meetings will not be disclosed. No correspondence will be entered into by the GSMA regarding validation or qualification of entries, judges' decisions or discussions. The decision of the chairman of judges is final.

Confidentiality:

Entries will be treated as strictly confidential. Only details of the award winners and selected commended or nominated entries in each category will be published.

Eligibility:

Winners:

The decision of the judges is final. No correspondence will be entered into.

The nominees will be notified prior to the GSMA's Mobile Asia Congress in November.

Promotion:

By entering the GSMA's Asia Mobile Awards, companies are expressly authorising the GSMA to use the specific text and visual materials submitted for the purposes of promoting the mobile industry in GSMA presentations, reports for publication, web site and media activities as well as all other forms of promotional/publicity materials.
