Category 2: Best Mobile Services

2a) Best Mobile Enterprise Application, Product or Service

The Best Mobile Enterprise Application, Product or Service award will be presented to the organisation judged to have introduced in at least one Asian market, the most innovative mobile tools to help corporations or enterprise users to work smarter and "do business better" on the move.

Businesses that use enterprise mobility most effectively can be among the first to respond to customers, first to get products to market, act on opportunities or recover from threats and challenges. This award seeks to recognise innovators and market driving operators, vendors and application developers that deliver best in class products services and applications, from enterprise focused devices to CRM, accounting, sales, HR, logistics, communications, outsourcing and point of sale applications, among many others.

The judges will shortlist three to five entries in this category, with one winner announced at the Mobile Asia Congress in Hong Kong on Wednesday 18th November 2009.

Note! This year's winners in the Asia Mobile Awards will gain an automatic nomination (short listing) for the GSMA's Global Mobile Awards 2010.

The Global Mobile Awards will be presented at the world's leading mobile communications event, the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain in February 2010.

Eligibility:

This category is open to companies and organisations that develop or deliver mobile enterprise products, applications and services. These may include:

  • Mobile Network Operators
  • Application developers
  • Vendors
  • Content providers
  • System integrators
  • Corporate content providers and portal developers

Judging criteria

Entries can only be submitted for Mobile Enterprise Apps, Products or services that are commercially available on at least one Asian market today*. The product/service/app entered must have been commercially available between 30th November 2008 and the closing date of the GSMA's Asia Mobile Awards on Tuesday 15th September 2009 (5pm Hong Kong time). Please provide evidence to support this such as launch date of the product/service/app, including details of Asian countries or regions where the game is available, together with reviews and statistical evidence of market success or take up.

Entries will be judged on the following main criteria:

  • How easy is it to use?
  • What are the benefits to individual users and to enterprises as a whole?
  • Ease of implementation
  • International applicability
  • Value for money
  • Evidence of customer satisfaction e.g. testimonials

All entries must be submitted by Tuesday 15th September 2009 (5pm Hong Kong time).

In order to ensure a consistent approach for our judges, entries must be submitted using the Best Mobile Enterprise Application, Product or Service entry form .

Specific Entry Form Questions for this category:

On the entry form, in addition to submitting contact and company information, you will be asked to answer the following questions (maximum text/character length for your answers also shown in brackets below):

  • What is the brand name of your entered enterprise product, application or service? (100 characters = approx 20 words)
  • Is this a joint entry? If so. Who are the partnering organisations? (100 characters = approx 20 words)
  • Entries for this award category must be commercially available IN AT LEAST ONE Asian market. Please provide evidence to support this such as launch date of product, application or service, including details of countries/ regions where the product/service is available and, specifically, which operators or devices offer your product/application or service. (500 characters = approx 80 words)
  • Please describe the nature of your service, and the unique selling proposition? (1000 characters = approx 170 words)
  • How does your product or service help people to work smarter, and businesses to perform better? e.g. does it provide easier access to critical information for people on the move, does it enhance customer service response times etc.? (1000 characters = approx 170 words)
  • What features/products specifically make your product or service easy to use and implement? (1000 characters = approx 170 words)
  • Is this product or service deployed internationally/ across borders? (1000 characters = approx 170 words)
  • What return on their investment have customers typically enjoyed from this product or service? Please highlight in particular financial benefits (if available) as well as operational benefits. (1000 characters = approx 170 words)
  • Please give any customer testimonials to support your entry including the name of the customer and their company name. (800 characters = approx 170 words)

Please note: Use URLs when they are specific/ relevant to the category and will help judges further understand your entry, but due to the number of entries received, judges will not have time to surf company websites looking for further information on the entered product/service or initiative.
